The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change. But FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. For this reason, the name of the organization was updated in 1988 after a vote of national convention delegates to reflect the growing diversity and new opportunities in the industry of agriculture.
FFA is an intercurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. It is one of three components of agriculture education. Agriculture education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems.
FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet life's challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career pathways. So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too.

***Hello every one. Welcome to another great year of Placer FFA. This year is already starting great. Change has come upon us and The FFA loves change. We value tradition and keep true to it, but a bit of change is good. Thank you for everyone's hard work last year! We value you! And thank you Shannon Spears for your long 17 years of hard work! Placer FFA will miss you. Many of you may already know, but Mrs. Spears has taken up a position to teach full time at Sierra College as an Agricultural Teacher. Placer FFA wishes you the luck for the path to success. Since Spears has retired, 2 new Advisors have stepped onto the stage, Miss Fonseca and Mr. Lorance. They are both very excited to be here, so lets welcome them, and make this process of change as fun as possible! Check them out in the Advisors tab. Hope you all had a wonderful summer, and Welcome Back to another Great Year!
